Originally deposited as a DVD-ROM. Contains video montage of film clips showing children and adults riding bicycles both competitively and for leisure. Commissioned by Yorkshire Festival 2014 as part of 'Tour de Cinema' in association with the Tour de France race. Timing. Action on Film: (00:08) Clips of vintage film, mostly young children on tricycles. (00:58) 1950s black and white film of a boy being taken to a bicycle showroom by his parents. They buy him a shiny new bicycle. Later his father teaches him to ride it. (00:24) More vintage film of children on bicycles. (01:27) A road safety class for child cyclists. (01:42) A teenager gets up early and makes some sandwiches. He and his friend cycle off down the road. (02:03) A group of young cyclists in the 1950s. (02:15) [A triathlon] and other scenes of competitive cycling. (02:40) A bicycle race going through Leeds in [1960s or 1970s.] (02:50) Scenic views of the Yorkshire Dales including Knaresborough train viaduct, intercut with cyclists in similar areas.
