Registers

A series of registers in the form of loose A3 sheets relating to individual bridges originally stored in ring binders. The sheets were arranged in road order. Some sheets are missing from various registers. Information given can vary but may include road name with classification, bridge name and number, responsible authority, river or stream name, bridge date and type of construction, span dimensions, footways and carriageway widths, permissible loading and any restrictions, brief report on the present condition of bridge and occasionally later comments. Most of the information was compiled during 1929-1935. Some sheets include photographs of the bridges and location maps.
