Originally deposited as a minidisc. Contains reminiscences from Margaret Barker. Born in Driffield, in 1915. Discusses her father's occupation as a groom and gardener, her memories of going to Crosshill school, learning dressmaking, her marriage to a whitening mill worker, life in Middleton, World War II, childbirth, public transport, holidays in Scarborough, bad snowfall in 1947, seeing the doctor, Middleton Foresters, Middleton Feast, Martinmas hirings, families in the village, the different farms in the area, cleaning, and washing clothes.
